Pregnancy and birth is one of the most extraordinary experiences we as women can endure. It is a humbling experience to be a part of and I cannot be more grateful to have the opportunity to provide support throughout this time. I have been a Labor and Delivery nurse for almost 6 years now. It has been a privilege to be the primary caretaker for pregnant women throughout their hospital stay. My goal as a nurse is to ensure the safety of my mamas and babies while also providing the emotional, physical, and medical support they need. I always strive for a positive and empowering experience, no matter the outcome. Although I have enjoyed my time as a nurse, I have realized over the past year or so that my absolute favorite part of what I do is being present during this joyful (but lso sometimes sad) experience. I have worked with many doulas and midwives and I absolutely fell in love with their practice. The physiological and mental aspects of labor/birth has been the most amazing things to learn and put into practice. I truly believe it is my calling by God to help others, especially in the pregnancy and birthing support role.
With my nursing background, I feel like I can use my knowledge and medical experience to help my clients advocate for the birth they desire. I am also CPR and NRP certified. I plan on becomming a certified doula through the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations at Bastyr. I am so very excited to start a new path to further one of my passions in life!
When I'm not working, you can catch me spending time with my husband and two dogs. We love spending time outdoors, running/working out, and trying new restaurants. We are originally from Alabama and have been travel nursing over the past few years, but the PNW is where we feel we belong! We recently moved to the Seattle area and currently reside near the Federal Way area. We plan on having kids of our own soon, so I am already excited about being on the other side of things! I can't wait to get to know you!
