Rose Bolding Hunt

Postpartum Doula

The postpartum is a time of great transformation and it’s my calling/honor/privilege to help people through this. I provide compassionate nurturance and practical assistance to help restore a sense of balance, organization and stability in this immersive transitory time of change. I want to be a companion in a journey that can feel very isolating.

LET'S CONNECT

Rose is a true believer in the inherent ability of mothers and families to care for their infants and children.  They just need some help and Rose is happy to provide that as a postpartum doula.  Rose’s childhood was steeped in the sacredness of birth and caring for parents and children.  Rose’s mother, Dr. April Bolding, is a long-time doula, childbirth educator, and co-author of Pregnancy Childbirth and the Newborn and provided an immersive environment of compassionate care for families.  Through this, Rose got to see the intense elation and struggle of the transition to parenthood.  Rose grew up holding babies at class reunions, attending conferences and learning from the countless stories she heard.

This inspired her to get her degree in Psychology with a focus in childhood development while she worked as an Early Childhood Educator in a preschool setting.  Here she learned how to multitask, improvise, stay centered and kindly meet the needs of many little humans.  She’s also done nanny care for babies and their siblings, which is much easier than wrangling 7-14 toddlers at a time!

As a postpartum doula, Rose seeks to bring a sense of relief, balance, normalcy and validation to new and experienced parents.  Her calm, warm presence brings comfort to what can be an isolating experience. She holds the knowledge from connecting with so many parents that every little thing is going to be alright - eventually.  It just takes walking one foot in front of the other, however imperfectly, until the light at the end of the tunnel gets brighter.

In Rose’s free time, she dances and teaches Latin dance. On Sundays, you can find her picking out flowers at the farmers market, making bone broth, and stocking her freezer with chocolate chip cookies.

What Her Clients say
My wife and I extremely appreciate Expecting Joy, its founder Vanessa and Rose, our postpartum doula, and would highly recommend them! We had originally planned on taking care of our newborn son on our own, but due to post-birth complications that plan was not realistic. We contacted Vanessa on Sunday early afternoon, and she immediately started reaching out to her network, and Rose reached out to us Sunday evening, we arranged a call on Monday and Rose started with us on Tuesday, with one day delay being caused by us. This is for a service that typically people book months in advance. Rose has not only been taking great care of our son during her nights, but also giving us great advice both how to take care of him and practical advice how to integrate taking care of him into our lives. We couldn't have gotten through our first month without her!

We highly recommend Rose! She was our postpartum night doula for our son. Having Rose in our home was such a blessing - her supportive nature and kind demeanor made us feel completely at ease leaving our newborn in her care. Rose was not only incredibly helpful with the baby but also an amazing cook who often prepared nutritious meals for our family. Her gentle guidance and wealth of knowledge were invaluable during those challenging early months of parenthood. She always kept us informed about our baby's patterns and development. What truly set Rose apart was her genuine kindness and dedication to our family's wellbeing. She adapted seamlessly to our changing needs and was always ready with encouraging words when we felt overwhelmed. As an added bonus, her culinary skills meant we always had healthy, delicious meals ready - something we deeply appreciated during those busy newborn days. Rose clearly has a gift for nurturing both babies and new parents. We're so grateful to have had Rose's support during this special time in our lives.
